Trainee Sales & Brand Merchandiser Job Opportunity

United Wines incorporating HEINEKEN NI is a dedicated agency-led wholesale business within the Licensed Trade servicing the entire on and off trade. As a subsidiary of HEINEKEN IRELAND we are the licensed wholesale company responsible for developing the HEINEKEN portfolio across Northern Ireland.

Now in our 34th year of operation, we pride ourselves on our market leading and award winning brands including Heineken, Orchard Thieves, McGuigan Wines, Blossom Hill, I HEART Wines, Freixenet, Kulov vodka and Champagne Bollinger, to name a few.

 

The Job’s Mission

  • To champion United Wine’s brands & space performance within the on and off trade throughout NI (and ROI as and when required)

 

Job Role

  • Trainee sales representative within Northern Ireland, selling an extensive beer, cider, wines and spirits drinks portfolio
  • Providing holiday cover for the United Wines sales team within established territories in Northern Ireland
  • Merchandising as appropriate during key marketing / promotional campaigns and at key trading periods
  • Call on potential customers to develop new business
  • Represent United Wines at Trade Exhibitions, Events and Demonstrations / Tastings (some of which may be in the RoI)
  • Maintain competitor analysis database
  • In Store Business Development to ensure maximum promotional implementation in terms of Retail Pricing, appropriate display and stock levels as directed by Retail / Wholesale Manager
  • Recording sales and order information
  • Maintain and develop relationships with existing customers

Essential Requirements

  • Minimum 2 ‘A’ Levels
  • GCSE Maths & English Language (C grade and above)
  • Literate in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
  • Full UK Driving licence (no endorsements)

Note

  • Role will involve occasional evening, week-end work and overnight/s
  • In-field training will be provided by UW Senior Sales personnel
  • WSET training to Level 2 will be provided by United Wines
