The Crossings Pinot Noir

The rugged and unspoiled glacial Awatere Valley is not a location for the faint-hearted, yet its harsh conditions bring rare rewards for winegrowers. It has soils and a climate which conspire to slow the ripening of the grapes grown there, creating crisper, fresher wines with more intense fruit than in any other sub-region of Marlborough.

Planted with Sauvignon Blanc, Riesling and Pinot Noir, The Crossings has three distinct vineyard sites along the north bank of the Awatere River which are fully accredited through the sustainable Winegrowing New Zealand programme.

Tasting notes: lifted aromas of black plums and violets. Ripe berry fruit flavours combine with savoury notes on the palate to produce a wine that is both elegant and approachable.
