Neil McGuigan, International White Winemaker of the Year 2013, is visiting Belfast this week to celebrate the sale of the millionth case of the renowned McGuigan label in Northern Ireland.
McGuigan Wines, winner of six global wine accolades since 2006 including three International Winemaker of the Year titles, has sold one million cases of its world-famous wine since first entering the Northern Ireland market in April 2008
Accolades including International Wine maker of the year, Australian producer of the year and champion white, have helped the Australian winemaker achieve the landmark sales in this market.
To mark the occasion, Neil McGuigan of McGuigan Wines paid a visit to Belfast from his vineyard in Australia to present a commemorative certificate to Lurgan-based United Wine Merchants, the brand’s distributor in Northern Ireland.
Speaking after the landmark announcement, Neil McGuigan said: “Northern Ireland is a hugely important market for us and I’m delighted to visit Belfast to celebrate the sale of our millionth case of wine. I’d like to take this opportunity to thank everyone at United Wine Merchants for their support in reaching this milestone.”
United Wine Merchants Managing Director Martin McAuley added: “United Wine Merchants has worked with McGuigan brothers Neil and Brian for many years and we’re thrilled to have played our part in helping them achieve the landmark sale.
“Over recent years we have seen the palate of Northern Ireland’s wine drinkers grow in sophistication. People know what they like and have developed a loyalty to labels which provides great sales consistency for McGuigan’s range of premium wines.”
