Map of New Zealand
New Zealand continues to shine as a classic benchmark for Sauvignon Blanc. Over the past number of years the growth across the UK market was over 6%, the strongest performance seen outside South Africa. In the On Trade there was more modest growth of 1%, but against declines across the board this again is something to be proud of.

Globally New Zealand continues to enjoy good growth, but a very healthy harvest has ensured that overall prices have been stable, with minor increases coming from fuel and energy increases rather than grape value. There is a continued focus on developing other aromatic whites alongside Sauvignon Blanc, but this variety is set to dominate once again..

Key grape varieties

Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay and Pniot Noir

Marlborough, Hawkes Bay, Gisborne
